I hereby determine that :-
1. The date for the commencement of the first period of suspension of sittings of the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal and the Court of First Instance in the year 2019 will be on Monday the 08th April 2019.
The ordinary sittings of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal will be resumed on Monday the 29th April 2019.
The ordinary sittings of the High Court will be resumed on Wednesday the 24th April 2019.
The ordinary sittings of the other Courts of First Instance will be resumed on Monday the 22nd April 2019.
2. The date for the commencement of the second period of suspension of sittings of the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal and the Courts of First Instance in the year 2019 will be on Tuesday the 13th August 2019.
The ordinary sittings of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal will be resumed on Monday the 26th August 2019.
The ordinary sittings of the High Courts will be resumed on Wednesday 21st August 2019.
The ordinary sittings of the other Courts of First Instance will be resumed on Monday the 19th August 2019.
3.The date for the commencement of the third period of suspension of sittings of the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal and the Courts of First Instance in the year 2019 will be on Monday the 23rd December 2019.
The ordinary sittings of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal will be resumed on Monday the 13th January 2020.
The ordinary sittings of the High Courts will be resumed on Wednesday the 08th January 2020.
The ordinary sittings of the other Courts of First Instance will be resumed on Monday the 06th January 2020.
In the event of Poya Day falls on 13th January 2020 the ordinary sittings of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal will be resumed on Tuesday the 14th January 2020.
In the event of Poya day falls on 13th January 2020 and Thaipongal falls on 14th January 2020 the ordinary sittings of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal will be resumed on Wednesday the 15th January 2020.
